Hi, I'm Liuhui.
A UX Designer.
Welcome to my portfolio site.
TouchRealm
UI / UX / Service Design . 2023
This team project aims to alleviate international students' accommodation challenges in Australia by providing essential rental information and tools. The design centers around an interactive digital platform, featuring a campus touchscreen app with gamified elements that simulate the rental experience to educate and assist students.
I led the prototyping of the touchscreen interface, iterating based on user testing and feedback, and also helped design the gamified learning flow. Beyond the interface, I supported workshop planning to extend our concept offline. This experience challenged me to consider both digital and service touchpoints, and how they work together. I learned the importance of designing for clarity and emotional reassurance, especially when tackling unfamiliar systems.
ESG Dashboard
Strategic Design / Business. 2024
Our team has proposed a cultural innovation approach that integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into Macquarie Group's corporate structure, promoting an innovation-driven culture that goes beyond traditional business practices.
My key contribution focused on designing the structure of the ESG dashboard itself—translating abstract concepts like social and governance risks into clear, data-driven visual narratives. I was also actively involved in synthesizing stakeholder insights and helping shape the final workshop presentation. Working at the intersection of design and business strategy, I learned how to balance creativity with analytical thinking to propose feasible cultural innovations. What stood out most was the need to communicate complex ideas in simple, compelling formats that senior stakeholders could act on.
Sweltering Cities
UX Design / Architecture . 2025

This team project is about helping local charity organisation Sweltering Cities to redesign the local bus stop at Mt Druiit area. My main contribution was helping shape the concept and doing the early sketches, especially the layout with circular seats and the graffiti wall. I suggested the idea of co-creation—letting local students leave messages or drawings on the wall—as a way to make the stop feel more personal and fun. I also worked on integrating passive cooling ideas like airflow design and a Trombe wall to deal with heat, and I helped draw out the user journey in storyboard form. It was my first time thinking about design as a system that connects physical space, culture, and daily behavior. We haven’t tested it with real users yet, but I realised how much small design choices can impact how people feel in public space. I also learned that balancing practicality and creativity in a group takes good communication, which I’m still improving on.

JustAccess
UX / Space / Service Design . 2024
This project focuses on designing accessible and inclusive event spaces for public venues, integrating advanced technologies to enhance the experience for all patrons, especially those with disabilities.
I was primarily responsible for leading the UX flow mapping and helping translate spatial layouts into user-centered design elements, ensuring physical and digital experiences were integrated. I also coordinated part of the user research phase, where we tested features like smart ramps and interactive signage. A key challenge we faced was balancing accessibility with sustainability—how do we create inclusive spaces without overengineering or overconsuming? Through iterative prototyping and stakeholder feedback, we found design solutions that were simple, efficient, and empowering. This project taught me how critical co-design and testing are when working with diverse user groups, and it deepened my understanding of accessibility not just as a technical standard, but as a mindset.
Fields of Learning
I’m a UX student with a strong focus on interaction design and a passion for creating intuitive, human-centered digital experiences. My work blends technical skills with empathetic design, supported by a broader interest in strategic design where systems thinking meets user research.
I'm currently seeking graduate or junior roles in UX/UI or interaction design—positions where I can grow under experienced mentors and contribute to thoughtful, user-driven projects.
My strengths lie in a deep user-centred mindset, sharp interaction design skills, and a solid foundation in visual communication. I’m fluent in tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, and I approach problems with structured, research-led thinking. Above all, I aim to design not just usable interfaces, but meaningful experiences that make a difference.
